Marble

Marble is a metamorphic rock. It was once limestone but over a period of time, the combination of intense heat and pressure caused the limestone to re-crystallize.

Marble, as a stone, generally has a consistent background colour with veins of different colours. The veins in the stone were produced by earth movement that had exerted stresses on the stone. Minerals and other impurities found their way into the cracks to produce the veins which we see in marble today.

Tumbled Marble
Tumbled Marble is produced by placing the marble into a large cylindrical container, with water and abrasive material.

The cylindrical container is then vibrated for a duration of time and the antiqued effect of Tumbled Marble is achieved.
Borders
Borders can be added to your design, to create an interesting effect, or to visually define an area .

Maintence is an important aspect of a good marble installation. Please check our maintenance section for further information.
