Centura Tile (www.Centura.ca), North America’s premier distributor of both residential and commercial floor and wall fashions, is announcing that Fioranese’s Urban Avenue porcelain stoneware tile, carried by Centura Tile, won the Popular Choice Award for hard flooring at the 2015 Architizer A+ Awards.
“The A+ Awards really are the definitive global architecture and product awards,” says Ross Keltie, Centura Tile's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “There were more than 200,000 public votes in the contest in addition to the panel of judges. The public seal of approval really cements Urban Avenue as the people's choice for hard floor tile and I'm thrilled we can offer it to our customers.”
The Popular Choice award was bestowed at the Architizer A+ Awards gala on May 14 after the tile was recognized by a panel of more than 300 high-profile judges, including architectural historian Annmarie Adams and Bruno Gabbiani, president of the Italian Association of the ALA.
Keltie describes Urban Avenue as a porcelain stoneware tile styled to have a brick-like appearance: “It pays homage to industrial design principles, including loft living and the high rises found in industrialized Western nations,” he adds.
In addition to the 2015 A+ Popular Choice Award, Fioranese’s Urban Avenue tile also won the first edition of the ADI Ceramics Design Award at Cersaie 2014, an award for innovative Italian ceramics.
“It's an honour to offer such a product,” says Keltie about Fioranese’s porcelain stoneware tile. “We're doing our part to ensure this design gets its deserved recognition, especially as it’s one of the few tiles of this type in the world. And we are always doing our research to continue to offer the best and newest trends in wall and floor fashions.”
