Ceramic trends of the year

Every year, the ceramic industry vibrates to the sound of one or more trends that will dominate projects and decors throughout the year. Here are a few looks that we will see a lot in 2021!

Terrazzo

Terrazzo remains a very present trend. Its mottled design and textured pattern are very expressive and versatile has a vintage look that is making a comeback with a modern touch. We find these tiles in many formats, colours, textures and finishes.

Metal

Another trend this year features tiles that look like metal-finish panels. Ideal for a contemporary look with an industrial, minimalist or urban accent, these rust effect tiles charm us with their oxidized metal looks. Metallic tiles leave a lot of room for design imagination.

Earth Colours

Terracotta, forest green, marine and warm white are a big trend this year! Their warm side joins last year’s cocooning trend. We are always looking for this comforting effect for our interior, to feel at ease everywhere, like at home. It is interesting to note that the tiles are less glossy for this season and naturally we are moving towards matte or satin finishes.

Pattern Tiles

This trend will not run out of steam anytime soon! Ideal to make unique and daring projects, patterned tiles have character and are extremely eye-catching. Whether installed on the floor or wall, these tiles create a “wow” factor. They also create a focal point when installed as an accent. They can be found with geometric or provenzal patterns. This year, we’re pushing the boundaries even further and daring to create looks that are out of the ordinary. This rule also applies to the world of ceramics, where vibrant patterns and colours are now being showcased. Whether it’s terrazzo, metal, or warm colours, we’re saying goodbye to cold, neutral ceramics and giving way to innovative designs.
